The f7 / f2 Point
Before castling, the squares f7 (for Black) and f2 (for White) are defended only by the king. They are the tenderest points in the opening: the target of Scholar's-Mate ideas, the Fried Liver, and countless bishop and knight sacrifices.
How to spot it: aim your light-squared bishop at f7/f2 early, add a knight to g5/g4 or e5/e4, and watch for a sacrifice that drags the king out. Equally, guard your own f-pawn point until you've castled.
