Long Combinations
A long combination runs three or four forcing moves deep before the point lands. The skill is not brilliance but discipline: follow the forcing moves: checks, captures, threats: one at a time to the end, holding each position clearly in your mind.
How to spot it: when you sense a tactic, list the forcing candidate moves and calculate the most forcing first. Keep the opponent's replies forced so the tree stays narrow, and don't stop calculating until the position is quiet and clearly won.
