Queen Endgames
Queen endgames are a storm of checks. With so much power on the board, king safety and perpetual check dominate: the defender hunts for endless checks, the attacker tries to shelter the king and promote a pawn.
How to spot it: when ahead, walk your king toward your own passed pawn (using it as a shield from checks) and advance it; when behind, look for perpetual check and for skewers/forks of the enemy king and queen.
